Collection of data

Across the Site, we collect information:

(a) Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

(b) Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

(c) Site reviews

When visitors leave reviews on the site, we collect the data shown in the review form and also the visitor’s IP address to help spam detection. The review may be checked through Akismet, an automated spam detection service. The Akismet service privacy policy is available here: https://akismet.com/privacy/.

  • Process payments and prevent fraud;
  • Set up your account for our store;
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes;

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

For example, we will store order information for three (3) years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

All of this information may be associated with your Autowriterpro profile and account.

If you create an account, Autowriterpro may also create and assign to your device an identifier that is similar to an account number. We may collect the name you have associated with your device, device type, telephone number, country, and any other information you choose to provide, such as username, email address, or zip code.

Legal basis for collection of data

We collect and process your data on the basis of different legal grounds, depending on the nature of the data being provided and the type of processing involved.

(a) Performance of a Contract

Some of the data processed by us is performed on the basis that it is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you, or in order to take steps at the request of the user prior to entering such an agreement. 

(b) Legitimate Interest

It may be necessary to collect your data for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by us. Autowriterpro stores your data until it is no longer necessary to provide our products or services or until you ask us to delete your data. We may be required to retain certain information in order to comply with local laws.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Use of your data

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
